In a major update for NEET-UG 2025 Aspirants, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially announced that the exam will be reverted to its pre-COVID format. The announcement was made via public notification on January 25, 2025, significantly changing the structure and duration of the exam. There will be 180 mandatory questions to be answered in 180 minutes.
Question-Paper Format: The NEET-UG exam will now consist of 180 questions, eliminating the changes introduced temporarily during the COVID-19 pandemic. The exam will consist of 90 questions from biology and 45 questions each from Physics and Chemistry.
The optional Section B, which was introduced will no longer be a part of the exam, making the entire paper compulsory for candidates.
Examination Duration: Candidates will now have 180 minutes to answer 180 questions. The adjustment aims to restore the examination process's uniformity and standardization.
The NTA's decision to revert to the previous format aligns with the NEET-UG 2025 exam with the structure students were formally familiar with before the COVID-19 pandemic.
