About University

As per various international sources, Grodno State Medical University (GrSMU) is considered as one of the best medical universities to study MBBS in Belarus. The university was established in 1958 in the city of Grodno. The university is well known for its specialization in the field of medicine and medical psychology. The university has successfully graduated more than 16,000 medical students over the last 60 years.

At present, the university comprises of 45 departments. Many departments of the university are situated at various state hospitals so that every student can have the maximum practical exposure. GrSMU offers 4 hostels for students for boys and girls separately along with 2 gyms, a scientific library. Apart from this, the university has certain research laboratories along with a hepatological centre and a computer centre.

As per Expert RA, Grodno State Medical University was acknowledged as the most prominent university in the Commonwealth Independent States (CIS).

The degree awarded by Grodno State Medical University is recognized globally.

Accommodation

Grodno State Medical University (GrSMU) has 4 hostels which offer accommodation to all its international students on a sharing basis of 3-5 of the same genders. The rooms of the hostel are furnished and well equipped with all the necessary amenities. The canteen of the university also serves Indian food. For security purposes, the hostel rooms are under surveillance of the police.

Student Life

The university has a sports club named as Medik which offers various sports groups named as Minifootball (men), Basketball (women), General Athletics with all Karate elements (for all students).

To keep students physically fit and active the sports club offers various sports such as volleyball, basketball, body-building, Arm wrestling, weight-lifting, swimming, athletics, checkers, chess, judo, hiking, and table-tennis.

To keep students connected to their culture the university organizes various cultural events.

The city is situated in the western region of Belarus and close to the borders of Poland and Lithuania. The city is the capital of Grodno Region and Grodno district.
1127 was considered as the official establishment of the city. The present modern city was initially originated as a small fortress which was maintained by Rurikid princes.
The city is majorly dominated by the chemical industry and has immensely developed the agricultural sector along with the milk and meat stock-breeding sector.
The city of Grodno experiences a fairly bearable temperature throughout the year.
The city has a well-developed and well-connected transportation system. Railroads are considered as one of the most comfortable modes of travelling.
Apart from traditional Belarusian cuisine the city also offers another cuisine such as French, Italian, Indian, etc.
The city is famous for its historical attractions as compared to all other cities of Belarus.
